Q. What’s the most meaningful part of working with the Florida Network?
Leila: “Youth and their families are at the core of every decision we make at The Network. Simply knowing that my contributions as a Board Member could positively affect and shape the direction of someone else’s life journey is incredibly rewarding.”
Q: What do you wish you had more time for each day?
Leila: “Drinking coffee! Those very early morning hours are my focus time – I reflect on the past, feel gratitude for the present, and plan for the future. Focusing on those three things allows me to start each day with a clear head and grateful heart.”
Q. What book have you read that has impacted you most and why?
Leila: “The 12 Week Year. This book is about focus, discipline, and accountability – the concepts outlined make you understand the value of your time (and how limited it is) and why it’s important to have a goal, and a plan, to do the things you say you’ll do, and to celebrate success.”
Q. What are your words of advice for a new board member?
Leila: “Listen to your heart, follow your gut, and use your talents to make change.”
Q. What is something about the Florida Network you wish more people knew about?
Leila: “Absolutely every individual working with and for The Florida Network is incredibly passionate about the work they do. The love for our youth and their families is real – we’re a family, a network, a community.”
Q. What’s your favorite weekend activity?
Leila: “Every weekend begins with a gym workout and ends with one of my kids’ sports games! Taking time to be present for both myself and my family helps bring balance to my life.”
Q. Who inspires you?
Leila: “It’s not one person who inspires me, it’s a type of person – those who come from nothing, create something, and give back inspire me to do the same.”
Q. What do you want your legacy to be?
Leila: “To help someone find their purpose and give them a platform to use their talents to make change for others.”
