Staff Spotlight on Cori Blomberg
Operations Specialist
Q. What’s the most meaningful part of working with the Florida Network?
Cori: “Providing support to our entire Network team, from our staff to our Board, to our agency partners and their staff; being the first point of contact to connecting families in need to our programs and agency partners for services.”
Q: What do you wish you had more time for each day?
Cori: “I tend to immediately jump into my day. I would like to make more time in the mornings for meditation and focusing on being more intentional at the start of my day.”
Q. What book have you read that has impacted you most and why?
Cori: “I love to read purely for fun; reading is one of the ways I decompress, so I enjoy lots of different genres. For me, any book that makes me laugh out loud, cry or feel sad when it’s over because I want to keep reading that story, has an impact.”
Q. What keeps you going when you feel pressure or uncertainty?
Cori: “The unconditional love and support of my husband. We’re about to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary, and he is, without fail, the person who will lift me up the most, and he gets it when I get anxious or grumpy. And then usually tells me to do more yoga.”
Q. What is something about the Florida Network you wish more people knew about?
Cori: “That being part of the Florida Network team isn’t just being ‘part of the team,’ it’s truly being part of the family.”
Q. What’s your favorite weekend activity?
Cori: “In addition to spending time with my husband and friends, I love to unwind on my back porch with my pups, wine, and my Kindle.”
Q. Who inspires you?
Cori: “I started with the Florida Network right before Covid. The past few years have been really hard on everyone, with challenges I think most people could never have imagined. I’m really inspired by all of our Network staff for their dedication and commitment to our agencies and programs and their efforts to ensure that families and youth continue to have access to our services.”
Q. What do you want your legacy to be?
Cori: “To be someone who is strong enough to love hard, stand up for what I believe in, and continue to do small things that make a big difference.”
